Volunteering Opportunities

Why help? Be Proudly Pittsburgh Public!

The Pittsburgh Colfax K-8 Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) works to supplement the baseline Colfax K-8 education by serving families across parts of Squirrel Hill, East Hills, Homewood, Shadyside, and Point Breeze. The Colfax PTO fulfills this mission through fundraising, organizing volunteers, planning events (see the calendar), and facilitating communication (newsletters, meeting minutes, treasury reports, email updates, student directory, etc.). In 2012, the significant efforts of the Colfax PTO were recognized with a Parent Group of the Year Honorable Mention by PTO Today. Contact the Colfax PTO's President with any questions.

Colfax K-8 provides unique learning opportunities and services to students on top of the baseline Pittsburgh Public education. Through generous donations from you (the Colfax K-8 community) and business sponsors, the Colfax PTO consistently meets financial targets to fund these educational programs: approximately $100 per child, $2500 per classroom, and $10,000 per grade!
