The Ask Drive is our main source of fundraising for the PTO. Your donations allow us to continue supporting our fantastic teachers and funding the enrichment opportunities that Colfax students have enjoyed for so many years.
Some of the PTO-funded enrichment opportunities include:
- Grow Pittsburgh garden classes for K, 1st, and 2nd
- Field trips to Frick Museum (2nd) and Frick Environmental Center (1st & 4th)
- Middle School Musical – Spring 2025
- Middle School Dance and support of ½ day clubs
- $100 per teacher for classroom supplies
- Funds available for teacher-directed field trips for every grade
And this year we have been proud to fund additional community strengthening initiatives such as:
- Colfax T-shirts for ALL students and staff
- Cobra CARES program - supporting our families in need through grocery deliveries & an in-school pantry stocked with things children may need
These year-to-year commitments total over $50,000. This is where your money will go. Donations received during the Ask Drive ensure we can continue offering PTO-funded enrichment opportunities to Colfax students next year.
With even more financial support, we can fund special requests for school and classroom needs, add to our program offerings, offer transportation to events, and continue to make all of our community events free.
We know there is uncertainty around the future of Colfax in the PPS Facilities Plan. Please don't let that stop you from donating this year - we hope to be able to provide stability for our kids and continue to offer support to all of the excellent programming we have historically funded.
A donation of $100 per child would allow us to fill our budget for next year - but each contribution, in any amount, helps. Ask Drive donations are a fantastic way to give back to the Colfax community – please share this request with family, neighbors, and friends.
Remember that many employers, such as Gap Inc., The Home Depot, Apple, Google, and Deloitte, offer matching programs. The Colfax PTO is a 501(c)(3) (Tax ID: 20-3274732). Our treasurer, Julie Kapsch (Treasurer@colfaxpto.org), would be happy to assist you with the matching process.
Contributions can be made online. Note that Zeffy provides fee-free processing to the PTO - but defaults to a 15% "tip" which goes to their company. You can manually change this tip to zero if you do not wish to pay Zeffy. The Ask Drive will run through December 24, 2024.
